All products purchased through the DTM service can be site-centred by postcode, place name, National Grid sheet number, twelve figure coordinate reference or address search. The address search is a new addition to the system which uses Address Point technology to give fast, directed searches against individual property numbers, building names, business numbers & even unit numbers on industrial estates. Address-Point is a dataset that uniquely defines and locates residential, business and public postal addresses in Great Britain. It is created by matching information from Ordnance Survey digital map databases with more than 26 million addresses recorded in the Royal Mail® Postcode Address File.
OS Sitemap® Plots (PDF Format)
Sitemap PDF Plots provide grid-referenced site-centred map extracts for any location throughout Great Britain and are ideal for those who apply for planning permission from their local authority by post. Sitemap PDF products are not licensed to be sent by email to 3rd parties. Products larger than your printing capabilities can be fulfilled by Above & Beyond on high quality paper up to A0 size and sent by 1st class post.
Sitemap plots can be purchased at any scale between 1:200 & 10,000 so that your area of interest captures the property & surroundings you require. It is advisable to check which scale(s) is/are required for any planning submissions. Scales of 1:500, 1:1250 & 1:2500 are available as A4 or A3 sized extracts.
For the first time these planning extracts are available in colour, building fill or the traditional monochrome. Click on the sample image below to see a composite of the three formats.
OS Sitemap® Data (TIFF Format)
An increasingly popular way of sourcing a plan for your property is as a TIFF file. The extract is a data image file which is licensed to be sent via email. These can be printed (without limit) for paper submissions or simply inserted as an attachment into an online submission which many authorities are now accepting.
The TIFF format can be viewed & printed by most desktop graphic software applications (e.g. Windows Picture & Fax Viewer).
Sitemap Data TIFF files can be purchased at three different scales so that your area of interest captures the property & surroundings you require. It is advisable to check which scale(s) is/are required for your submission. Each scale is also available as A4 or A3 sized extracts (equal to the paper sizes). The scales available are 1:500, 1:1250 & 1:2500.
For the first time these planning extracts are available in colour, building fill or the traditional monochrome. Click on the sample image to see a composite of the three formats.
OS Sitemap® Data (DXF® Format)
Sitemap DXF® is the format of highly-detailed, layered mapping data which is primarily used by the architectural industry. The format is vector based which enables limitless scaling without loss of clarity and enables the user to integrate their plans directly into the mapping.
The format is derived from Ordnance Survey’s National Topographic Database (NTD), which holds more than 200 million individual features of the British landscape, creating a seamless computer map of Great Britain.
Data Exchange Format (DXF®), conforms to AutoCAD® release 12 onwards. DXF® provides a graphic presentation, but the level to which attributes are represented is dependent on the CAD package with which the data is used.
With the DXF® data you can extract any area up to 10,000 Hectares (10km x 10km) in any shape! If your site is an irregular shape you can outline the area you require (known as cookie-cutting) on screen as a polygon so that you only pay for what you need.
OS Landplan® (PDF file)
OS Landplan Data® (TIFF file)
Landplan® is Ordnance Survey's 1:10,000 scale contoured mapping which is provided in either, PDF or TIFF formats. Landplan® Plots & Data can be produced with or without contours, in colour or black and white. The plots can be scale customised between 1:5000 to 1:10 000 in increments of 1:500 providing a cost-effective regional overview for any project. Landplan® is the largest scale of Ordnance Survey mapping showing contours & is only available through OS Mapping & Data Centres. Landplan® is the map of choice for site-location, farm or estate management, offering national coverage, site-centering options and seamless joins at map edges so that fences and buildings do not end abruptly at the edge of each sheet. |
