Satmap

Satmap is leading the charge in innovative GPS technology. Founded in 2005, the company produced a hugely successful device in the Satmap Active 10 and have since improved on it with the Active 12. Both devices feature excellent battery life and handy SD card mapping, but the new Satmap Active 12 really pushes the envelope for GPS.

Satmap are also pushing the envelope with their mapping, which is sourced from Ordnance Survey but is presented in full HD resolution. This makes the mapping crisp, readable and a delight to navigate with.

The new Active 12 was released in 2014 and we mean it when we say Satmap have crafted something great. With the HD mapping, easily interchangeable mapcards, 128mb of RAM , Bluetooth and a barometric Altimeter, the Satmap Active 12 lays down a bold statement to the rest of the GPS crowd.

Satmap also offer loads of support. You can find their manuals and guides online (or in our guides here) and it’s easy to purchase new mapping with their clearly marked map cards. Satmap are still coming up with new ideas, such as the Satmap Adventure Layer mapping that uses Opencyclemapping . This open-source map layer provides all the details you’d need for a true outdoor enthusiast, in scales 1:25k, 1:50k and 1:100k.
